During your consultation and pre-surgery appointments, Dr. Dellinger will explain the different types of breast implants, where implants can be placed, the types of incisions and which combination may be right for you. Saline and silicone breast implants both have advantages and come in a full range of profiles to best fit your intended look. Silicone breast implants tend to more closely mimic the look and feel of natural breast tissue but beautiful, natural-looking results can be achieved with either one.*
Breast implants can be placed directly under your breast tissue or under the chest muscle through incisions in the breast crease, around the nipple or through the armpit. Dr. Dellinger carefully tailors each detail of your breast augmentation to your preferences and with your ideal results in mind.
Breast augmentation can be performed as an outpatient procedure under general or local anesthesia at a hospital or surgery center. Dr. Dellinger makes a periareolar, inframammary or transaxillary incision, prepares a pocket for your breast implants and positions the implants for optimal size and symmetry.
The change in your breasts will be noticeable right after surgery, though your breast implants should gradually soften and settle with your final results becoming visible at about 3 to 6 months.*

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the average cost of breast augmentation is roughly $4,000, however these numbers don’t reference the full cost of the procedure which includes the implants, anesthesia, surgeon fee, facility fee and post-operative garments. Just as, if not more important than the cost, is the experience of the plastic surgeon, the surgical methods used and even the location of the surgery.

How do I find the best plastic surgeon for breast augmentation near me?
Chances are you will have multiple board-certified plastic surgeons near you offering breast augmentation. Finding the right provider is more about determining who is the best fit for you. Sit down for consultations with several providers and see how they envision your procedure going, as well as how you feel about working with them. Ask to see before and after photos of breast augmentations they have completed in the past and note how they match up with the results you are seeking. You should be able to easily determine if a plastic surgeon is right for you.
How much pain will I experience after my breast augmentation?
It is normal for women to feel pain and discomfort after having breast augmentation. Most women will feel tired and experience some discomfort in the chest area for several days post-procedure, but this can easily be managed through medication.
What should I expect from breast augmentation recovery?
Breast augmentation recovery is shorter than many expect. How short it is will vary based on the type of implant and the methods used during surgery, as well as the client and how fast they heal. Most people need a few days of complete rest directly after the procedure. After that, clients should reduce their activity for a week. Returning to work will depend on your occupation. Most patients can return to the gym for light workouts at two weeks. Dr. Dellinger will provide you with specific aftercare instructions to include when you can resume your normal activities.
What are the risks associated with breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation is a relatively safe procedure, but as is the case with any surgery, there are some risks. Women and their care providers should keep an eye out for infection, adverse reactions and excessive bleeding, as these are the most common risks.
How do I know if I am a breast augmentation candidate?
Good candidates for breast augmentation are adult women who are in good overall health and have realistic expectations for results. During your consultation, Dr. Dellinger will be able to determine if a breast augmentation could benefit you, as well as if other procedures will be needed to address issues such as skin elasticity and muscle tone.
