Your JUVÉDERM appointment may take between 15 to 60 minutes depending on the number of areas you have treated and whether you’re combining JUVÉDERM with another treatment option. Before beginning the injections, Dr. Dellinger will assess the appearance of your face overall, your skin tone and the areas you plan to have enhanced to pick the right spots for the injections. Your skin will then be cleansed and a topical numbing cream or ice may be used to minimize discomfort.*
Your results should be visible right after your appointment and can last from several months up to a year or two.
JUVÉDERM is intended to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the mid-face. Where there is lost facial volume, JUVÉDERM can help fade away lines and plump up the area for a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Which JUVÉDERM product is best for my needs?
JUVÉDERM offers a wide variety of products to address different concerns. Your trained injector will be able to discuss your concerns during your consultation and recommend the appropriate products to help treat your problem areas. Here are some options that we offer:
Typically, JUVÉDERM products offer results that last around 1 to 2 years.
What should I do if I don’t like the look of my injections?
JUVÉDERM can provide natural-looking results when administered by a trained and qualified injector with extensive knowledge of facial anatomy. However, if you are unhappy with your results, there are options you to add to or resolve your JUVÉDERM treatment.
If you want to further enhance your treated areas or add more volume, we can inject more product. If you are wanting to remove the filler, there is a solution called hyaluronidase that is injected into the same injection site to dissolve the HA filler.
It’s a good idea to give your injections time to settle before deciding to add or remove the filler.
Are JUVÉDERM fillers permanent?
JUVÉDERM is not a permanent anti-aging solution. While results can last for up to a year or more, your body will gradually absorb the HA filler to which you’ll need a follow-up treatment to maintain your desired results.
How much filler do I need?
How much filler you’ll need depends on your age, level of wrinkling and creasing, the size of the area needing treatment and more. Typically, most people only need 1 to 2 syringes of filler, but it is not uncommon to use more. Your injector will help you determine the recommended amount during your consultation.
We generally start will a lower amount of filler to ensure you have a natural-looking result. It’s much easier to add more filler then it is to overfill.
Are there any risks associated with JUVÉDERM fillers?
Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the body, so there is a much lower risk for an allergic reaction. However, as with all dermal fillers, there are some risks and side effects to watch out for including:
Typically, these side effects will fade in a day or two. However, if you notice that they are not going away or are getting worse, you should call our office right away.
More severe but rare risks and complication include:
