Experienced, Innovative & Committed
to Provide You the Personal Care You Deserve
Whether you’ve had children or not, a mommy makeover may fulfill your wish to see a firmer and flatter abdomen, fewer bumps from extra fat and fuller, perkier breasts. A mommy makeover is a personalized combination of procedures that typically combines breast enhancement and body contouring to help you achieve your specific appearance goals.
A native Texan, Dr. David Dellinger maintains board certifications in both plastic/reconstructive and general surgery, and has more than two decades of experience performing body contouring plastic surgery procedures in his practice. At Elysian Plastic Surgery, Dr. Dellinger works with men and women in the Austin area and beyond who are interested in improving their appearance.

The best candidates are healthy women who have completed their families, or not planning to have more children in the immediate future and have realistic expectations. Although you can have a baby after your mommy makeover, your results may be affected.
A mommy makeover may be right for you if you have loose abdominal skin or separated or weakened abdominal muscles that can’t be repaired with exercise. You may also be a good candidate if your breasts appear saggy, deflated or smaller after breastfeeding or pregnancy. Women who are bothered by how age, genetics or significant weight loss have affected their bodies may be good candidates too.
During your consultation, Dr. Dellinger will perform a physical examination and talk with you about your concerns and goals. Most mommy makeovers include liposuction, a tummy tuck and breast enhancement surgery, either breast augmentation or a breast lift with or without breast implants. Many women also choose to add liposuction to their mommy makeover.
Your mommy makeover may be performed under general anesthesia and may take two hours or longer depending on your combination of procedures. After your mommy makeover, Dr. Dellinger and his staff will put a compression garment around your waist and a bra similar to a sports bra on your breasts to minimize swelling and support your new contours.
You should rest at home for the first few days and get up regularly to move around to encourage blood circulation. You should have someone available to help change your dressings and record the output of your surgical drains, which should be removed in 7 to 10 days. You should wear your compression garments 24/7 for the first 2 weeks, then during waking hours for another 4 weeks. You can resume light exercise, such as walking, after 2 weeks and gradually increase your activity over the next few weeks. You should avoid heavy lift and abdominal exercise for 2 to 3 months.
Although you should see change in your body right after surgery, your final mommy makeover results may take several months to fully develop as your body heals.
